Request a copy of your diploma from the schools that you graduated from. If you can get a copy of the original diploma sent officially from your school, this is the best option.
Request an evaluation of your diploma for the United States system. This has to be completed by an official evaluator such as World Education Services (WES) or Education Credential Evaluators (ECE). This will let colleges and universities know how many credits they can take in their program. It will also help with choosing a major.
Colleges and universities may require exams such as the SAT, ACT, or TOEFL. Check which exams your school requires and prepare to take the exam.
Research the colleges and universities you would like to attend. Review their majors offered, length of time to complete their programs, and requirements for admissions. Also check the resources they have such as tutoring, English as a Second Language support, activities on campus, and modes that courses are offered such as in-person or online.
Review the options for major or course of study. Also, once you have your evaluation ready check how many credits will transfer to your school to shorten the time it would take to complete a degree and begin working in your field.
Plan a campus visit to discuss your transcript evaluation, course of study, and what supports are available on campus. Also get to know the campus, the resources, and the faculty. If you are studying remotely, ask if there is an option for a virtual tour.
